Full Flower Moon Fairy Hike
Step into the great outdoors with Fort Stevenson State Park’s Evening Hike Series! Back for 2025, this series features six unique evening hikes throughout the year, each offering a one-of-a-kind adventure under the stars. All hikes start at the Visitor Center and are perfect for nature lovers of all ages.
First Day Hike
January 1 | 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Kick off the new year with a magical evening hike. Choose to cross-country ski, snowshoe, or hike along a trail illuminated by candle luminaries.
Full Snow Moon Candlelight Hike
February 15 | 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Enjoy the enchanting glow of the Snow Moon while skiing, snowshoeing, or hiking along a beautifully lit trail featuring candle luminaries.

May 9 & 10 | 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Step into a whimsical world on this fairy-themed hike. Wander through a kaleidoscope of glowing objects that light up the trail for a magical experience. Expanded this year to two evenings, join us either day for this fun experience.
Sensory Hike
August 9 | 9:15 PM – 10:15 PM
Discover the nocturnal world in a new way! Stop at sensory stations along the trail to engage your senses and learn how wildlife navigates the dark. Groups will depart every 15 minutes, with the first group at 9:15 PM and the last at 9:45 PM.
Lantern Hike
August 30 | 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Light your path with a paper lantern on this 2-mile ranger-guided hike along the perimeter trail. Bring your own lantern or borrow one from the Visitor Center. (Battery or solar-powered lanterns only, please.)
Halloween Hike
October 24 & 25 | 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Celebrate Halloween on a decorated trail filled with spooky surprises. Don’t miss a trick-or-treat opportunity at the visitor center. Expanded this year to two evenings, join us either day for this fun experience.
