La Bohème
La Bohème, the timeless story of love and friendship among young artists struggling in hard economic times, is one of the most beloved operas in all the operatic repertoire. Puccini’s setting inspired Jonathan Larsen’s Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway musical, Rent. On the surface, La Bohème captures the essence of love’s joys and sorrows, but a deeper look shows the profound emotional weight in ordinary details—a bonnet, an old coat, a random meeting with a neighbor—that define our daily lives.
