The Death of Meriwether Lewis Opera

Saturday, June 15th    3:00 pm

Dakota Pro Musica with the Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra present the world premiere of Hollis Thoms’ opera “The Death of Meriwether Lewis: Transfiguartion at Grinder’s Stand”. The one-act opera is about an hour long and explores the last days of Lewis’ life and his struggles with his historic journey and its future effects on the Indigenous people they encountered.

Refreshments will be served.

The concerts are funded and sponsored by the Northern Plains National Heritage Area.
