sigh You know, I was just minding my own business this morning when I saw something that really got my spatula in a twist. It’s these two places in town trying to lure us in with gimmicky food deals. I mean, what are we, a bunch of hungry hippie food freaks?
First, there’s this Blue Rider joint offering some grilled cheese sandwich dripping with cheese and a fancy tomato soup on the side. Like we’re all just going to go gaga over a melted cheese sandwich! Although…I have to admit the idea of dipping it into that tomato bisque does sound pretty good. But still, the principle of the matter!
And then there’s this Atypical place practically giving away their beer for a measly buck off per can! Who do they think they are, Brewery Willy Wonkas?? Although…I do love me a good barrel-aged brew. And those reusable pack holders are kinda nifty for the environment.
But really, do they think we’re all just going to drop everything and run over there like Pavlovian dogs just because of a couple silly food and drink deals? Well, They’re…probably right, actually. Hand me my purse, would you? I’ve got a grilled cheese with my name on it to dip into that tomatoey goodness. And maybe I’ll waddle over to the brewery afterwards for a pint or four. What can I say, I’m just arae wummin who loves a good deal!
